Replacing Ford stockers seems to be the general recomendation by all. Milodon street vs Manley street vs Ferrea 5000 to work with Scorpion pedestal rockers and Hyd. Roller cam .571" I and .577" E lift. Street driven less than 10k miles/year. There seems to be slight varations in lengths and Ferrea's stems are thicker and longer than others. I'm wondering what issues I'll have to deal with, and what brand will have the least issues.........j

If the stems are larger in diameter the guides will need to be honed or replaced with bronze guides, replaced if diameter is smaller. If the valve is longer, rocker arm geometry will be off, assuming it was correct before, and push rod length will need to be changed to restore proper geometry. Talk to a quality machine shop for cost estimates. Chuck
EDIT: longer valves will require the springs to be shimmed or replaced to obtain proper open and closed spring pressures.
EDIT: Offset locks and/or retainers may be used to achieve proper spring height.

There's also S.I. Valves. They stock all makes, from standard replacements, to many upgrade levels, to full out racing valves, and their prices are right. For many years, when I built engines at Valley Head Service, the head of the cylinder heads department would often order from S.I. Valves. S.I. would also supply "Blanks" to us for machining into custom lengths, head sizes, or lock configurations by VHS. Manley and Ferrea have been "go-to" names for years and are quality, but I just thought many out there may not have known about S.I., quality and priced right.

I have Manley Pro Flows in the 351C currently in my '72 Mach 1. The heads are '71 Closed Chambers from an M code engine. They gave me about 30-40 more CFM than the Ford stockers.
