No aftermarket extension. AAW rewire has the plug for factory use. With the dash pad of you should be able to get your hand in from the top or possibly the bottom I wouldn’t glue it. Maybe double sided cellophane tape?

If you don’t trust your timing mark get a vacuum gauge and set it to max vacuum. If you have trouble starting back off some. Compare that to your marks. Also if you didn’t bolt down the carb it could have been a lean backfire from a vacuum leak.

If you do this make sure you get a continuous duty relay. A regular Bosch style probably won’t take the strain long term of the ignition. Mine is on the fuel side. It has the benefit of keeping the pump from running when I am tuning the EFI with my laptop.

I got the new quick version from RockAuto. No exchange/ core Decided to pull my engine to fix oil leaks. Now waiting on parts for wife’s car so stalled at the moment

Have you pulled all the plugs to see if they are fouled? Also try moving the timing light lead to other wires to see if you are getting spark at each plug
